It's not working!

If Vocus.io disappeared from your Gmail, or is generally misbehaving, please try the following:

  1. Refresh Gmail
  2. Sign out and sign back in
  3. Make sure inboxes are in an active state (see section #1)
  4. Disable or uninstall other Chrome extensions (see section #2)
  5. Make sure all your inboxes are correctly configured to use Vocus.io (see section #3)
  6. Make sure your browser is correctly configured (see section #4)
  7. Reinstall Vocus.io

#1 Reactivate Inboxes

Vocus.io may lose access to your inbox if you change your password or revoke access from Vocus.io. To check, go to Dashboard > Settings. Revoked inboxes will have a red icon and instructions on how to re-activate them. If all icons are yellow, then you are good.

#2 Conflicting Chrome extensions

Vocus.io might not be compatible with some of the Chrome extensions you are using, causing it not to appear on Gmail or unable to process your outgoing emails.
Specifically, Vocus.io is not compatible with Boomerang, Bananatag, Hubspot Sales, and Mixmax. Please disable those (and any others) and refresh Gmail. Vocus.io is also not compatible with  Ghostery Chrome extension - make sure to disable it or add Vocus.io & Gmail to the whitelist.
If you find other Chrome extensions that are not compatible with Vocus.io, let us know and we'll add them to the list.

#3 Did you configure all inboxes?

Make sure that the email inbox you are sending your message from is configured under your Vocus.io profile. To check what email inboxes are currently configured under your Vocus.io profile, see Dashboard > Settings, which will display a list of your "active inboxes", and allow you to configure the settings for each account.

#4 Is your browser correctly configured?

Make sure your Chrome browser is not blocking third-party cookies and site data. To check this, open chrome://settings/content (paste it in the address bar). Uncheck the option "Block third-party cookies and site data". Hit Done and sign-in again.

#5 Gmail Settings

Gmail customization settings can break Vocus.io's tracking. Keep the default configurations of the following settings:

  • Conversation View:  Conversation view on

  • Send and Archive: Hide "Send & Archive" button in reply
