Placeholders

To use placeholders in auto followups, you need to take advantage of Snippets and Templates.

In order to link  variables, shortcuts, and followups together, you want to add a [[placeholder]] text to both:

1. Followup template (Dashboard → Followups → Templates → "New Template").
2. Snippet (Dashboard → Snippets → "New Snippet")  - make sure that every [[placeholder]] occurring in the snippet body also exists in the followup sequence. Then assign the followup template to the snippet by enabling "Attach followup" from the "Actions" section on the bottom, choose the template and hit save.

If the followup was not triggered using a snippet, or one of the placeholders is not part of the snippet body, then placeholders will not be recognized.
